Dairy-free French Silk Pie
Dairy-free French Silk pie has a light chiffon chocolate cream topped with a sweet vanilla cream. This pie is a delicate romantic dessert, a crowd-pleasing holiday pie, or a secret midnight indulgence all in one.
- 24 ounces Non-dairy Whipping Cream
- 1 Cup Chocolate Chips or Chunks
- 2 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla
- ⅛ teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 1 recipe of Flaky Pie Crust fully baked
- 2 Tablespoons Chocolate Shavings optional
In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of Non-dairy Whipping Cream to boil.
Pour over Chocolate Chips and whisk gently until smooth and glossy, set aside to cool.
Meanwhile, whip 1 cup of non-dairy whipping cream, Powdered Sugar, Vanilla and Kosher Salt together on High speed until stiff peaks form, set aside.
Whip the remaining non-dairy whipping cream (1 Cup) on High speed until stiff peaks form. Add the cooled chocolate mixture and whip until fully combined.
Assemble the pie: Fill the pie crust with the chocolate cream and smooth it evenly. Top with the sweetened white cream. The white cream can be piped for a prettier pie. If using, garnish with Chocolate Shavings. French Silk Pie stores nicely in the refrigerator or freezer as a make-ahead dessert.
