Smoky Sweet Potatoes steam inside the oven, with margarine and spices until they are tender and caramelized.

  • 4 medium Sweet Potatoes peeled and cut into 1” cubes
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • ½ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Margarine/Butter


  • Preheat oven to 350F. Line an 8x8 square pan with parchment.
  • Toss Sweet Potatoes with Oil, Kosher Salt, Black Pepper, Chili Powder, Cinnamon and Brown Sugar. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Cut the Margarine/Butter into 6-8 cubes and place around the top of the potatoes evenly.
  • Cover and bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft.


Serve hot or room temperature. This recipe can be made in advance. Reheat in a 350 degree oven from frozen for about 20 minutes or until hot.
