In my personal scratch book of recipes, this Golden Oatmeal is called “Get Well Oatmeal” because it has all the components perfect to help my sick little ones or even myself to recover quickly and get a boost of energy for the day.

The term “Golden” is trending right now in reference to foods containing turmeric. Turmeric has a warm and slightly bitter flavor. It’s also touted as a natural anti-inflammatory. I actually take a supplement daily of turmeric and have noticed the difference. This Golden Oatmeal also contains Cinnamon, which is known to have antifungal and antibacterial properties. And lastly, I use honey to sweeten this oatmeal. This was specifically because honey is PROVEN to fight bacteria. The same chemical in honey that keeps it from spoiling for almost ever…that also helps your body to fight micro bacteria.
I feed my family Golden Oatmeal anytime someone is starting to come down with something. Does it definitely cure them? I certainly can’t say that, but I do believe that anything you can do to boost the immune system is a win! And you may be wondering if my kids will actually eat this… The answer is YES. It has an attractive golden color and the flavors are well balanced and sweet. I usually have to make a second batch.
