Thank you for visiting my site! I love to share my recipes with all of you. I believe that food brings people together, from shared Shabbat dinners to meal trains for new mothers, the grieving, or the sick. Food is a powerful tool that unites us as a community.
I’m Tamar Teitelbaum. I’m a self-taught baker, cook and self-proclaimed foodie. I have been working in my kitchen, experimenting with new ingredients, techniques and combinations since I was a young teenager. My husband, Gershon, and I also frequently try new restaurants or new cuisines. I take inspiration from everywhere in my life and use it in my food.
Though food may be a mere necessity for life to some, it IS my life. Cooking and baking is how I show my family that I love them. It is how I welcome guests into my home, make a simcha memorable, and cheer up my children after a hard day. Some of my most significant conversations have taken place over food.
Ever the student, I’m always reading, trying, testing, tasting and growing in my art. And through this website, I look forward to sharing these warm memories and delicious dishes with you. So that you too can create warm family memories over a hot homemade meal; have a deep conversation with your dearest friend over a slice of homemade cake; and perform the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim with your own two hands.
I would love to hear from you! Do you have a question about one of my recipes? Do you have a recipe idea that you’d like me to help bring to life? For those or any other questions, please feel free to comment directly on the recipe or use the channels below to get in touch with me.
